Our Credit Union has been providing members with easy to understand financial services for over 20 years.
These services include affordable loans at fair rates of interest as well as a popular savings account that pays an annual dividend. Our savings and borrowing services provide members with a fair alternative to traditional banking, pay day loans and indeed those services offered by high interest loan companies.
The All Flintshire Credit Union is run by volunteers for the benefit of local people. Anyone over 16 can become a member and it is very simple to join. We also have a First Savers section for those under the age of 16.
To find out more, you can contact us via the website, pop in to one of our branches or you can phone our main branch in Holywell on 01352 715555.
CORONA VIRUS UPDATE
On Good Friday we will be closed, we will open from 1000 to 1200 on the day before (Thursday).
Any All Flintshire Credit Union member that needs a loan repayment holiday can apply for 1 to 3 months. This will stop the interest payments as well. Failure to apply and just stopping payments will mean the interest still being applied to the loan.
A short message from CEO, David Stanley
We have kept running by working from our homes and opening two days a week, Tuesdays and Fridays at the Hollywell main office. Ring 01352 715555. The phones are diverted to our homes and will be answered except when we are shopping or walking our Welsh Collie. Keep Safe.
The main office of All Flintshire Credit Union, Holywell, will from the 31st March 2020 only open on Tuesdays and Fridays for transactions. This is to limit the spread and the chance of customers and our staff contracting this very severe virus.
All other collecting points in Flintshire will now be shut until further notice. This is because many of our volunteer staff are senior citizens or have long term illnesses.
You can ask for a standing order if you want to pay into your account, which means you wont need to attend at all during this pandemic.
AFCU is sorry for any inconvenience this might cause, but we must put people’s health first.
Changes to Mold Collection Point
The All Flintshire Credit Union branch in Mold will be moving from the
Town Hall to Mold Library from 11th March 2020.
AGM News Update
Flintshire Credit Union held its AGM on the 17th February 2020. The Chairman thanked our previous Treasurer Mr Tecwyn Jones for all his hard work over the last 20+years. Our new Treasurer is Miss Lisbeth Stanley.
On the 3rd of March 2020 our Credit Union will move over to the new Abacus Worldwide financial system. Which means from the 28th February to the 3rd of March our computers will be unavailable while our IT firm updates our systems, our old system being out of date and incompatible with the new data systems of the Bank of England and other Government financial groups whose rules we have to abide by.
The new system is fast and it means we can go green by replacing mounds of paperwork with a computer file, thus saving trees.
We are also dropping the “ALL” off our paper work and hence forth will be known as ‘Flintshire Credit Union’ FCU for short.
Flintshire Credit Union continues to grow and offer support to local communities in Flintshire and surrounding areas.
